At around 19.30pm on Tuesday 30 January 2024, Greater Manchester Police were called to reports of a suspected firearms discharge at a property on St Simons Street, Trinity in Salford. A scene remains in place whilst officers continue their enquiries and no injuries have been reported to police. Detective Inspector Mike Sharples of GMP’s Salford District, said: “I would like to thank the local community for their patience and understanding while we try and establish the full circumstances. “Thankfully no one was injured, and we are looking to understand a full timeline of events leading up to this incident and I cannot stress how important it is for the public to come forward if they have any information that could assist our investigation, whether it be CCTV footage, doorbell footage, photos, or descriptions of the suspects or events, we would ask that you report it to us directly. “Extra neighbourhood patrol officers have been deployed around the local area both on foot and in cars, and if you have any concerns about this incident our officers will be happy to provide reassurance and listen to any of your queries.
