Why volunteer with SCM?

Our volunteers are sourced from within the local community and all will receive training to assist them with their volunteering roles within our company. These roles are valuable in keeping SCM online and functioning as a community resource for Salford. We need help with a multitude of tasks and we work as a team to produce daily news and content.

If you would like to talk about volunteering at SCM, email admin@salford.media with your name and contact details, as well as a bit of information about yourself, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Equality, diversity and inclusion policy

Salford Community Media CIC (SCM) is committed to valuing and promoting equality of opportunity for all. This approach is fostered in all of our activities.

We will create a working environment where all volunteers can give their best and develop their potential irrespective of their gender (including sex, marriage and gender reassignment), race (including ethnic origin, colour, nationality, and national origin) disability, sexual orientation, religion or belief, or age.

Online safety

Although our volunteers will generally not come into contact with children or vulnerable persons, there are instances in which we may require a Basic DBS Check to be undertaken. In such circumstances the information provided will not be made public and will be securely stored electronically in an encrypted format.
