Earlier today (29th of October), an amazing tree-planting event was held in Dukes Drive Park in Monton. About 600 new trees were planted in four areas of the park in just two hours. The day was hosted by ASEZ WAO, a local voluntary organisation of young adult workers from the World Mission Society Church of God. The event was joined by Salford Mayor, Councillor Gina Reynolds, her Consort Councillor Neil Reynolds and other councillors and officers of the local area. The trees and tree shelters were kindly donated by EFORESTS, a national not-for-profit organisation established to help combat climate change and restore woodlands throughout the UK. Madam Mayor expressed her thanks to the volunteers, stating that in the current world full of crime and disasters, these volunteer activities will bring a positive change toward creating a world of peace and happiness, where everyone feels comfortable as if in the arms of a mother. The volunteers and Salford Council will continually look after the trees. The earth is suffering from global warming and desertification. ASEZ WAO believes every person's small effort will work together to change the world. ASEZ WAO volunteers carry out "planting 7 billion trees" to reduce greenhouse gases and to cope with climate change. This is the goal of the project 'Mother's Forest', to plant one tree per person, so all people around the world plant a total of 7 billion trees. Photos: ASEZ WAO
