Swinton Precinct Detectives - Wednesday 25th October 2023 - 10am – 12pm or 2pm – 4pm Help Lowri piece together Swinton Square’s past using old photos, a few rumours and your own personal memories! The workshop will comprise of a short walk followed by the making of a massive, collective blueprint of the precinct with all that we have discovered. Whether you’re new to the area or interested in local history, this should be a fun, interesting investigation of the world around us. Everyone is welcome, no experience necessary, amateur sleuths welcome! Precinct Extras - Thursday 26th October 2023 - 10am – 12pm or 2pm – 4pm Lowri is recreating old photographs she has found of Swinton Square but needs help staging them! Using photos from Salford Local History Library, we will choose images we like, to try and trace exactly where they happened and pose. Using a few props and hints of costume we will look at some of the anonymous figures of Swinton’s past, and poetically bring them to life. Anyone can take part, there will be a gentle warm up, chance to dress up, explore the precinct and create an image. Free admission and refreshments. Please dress for the weather as some of the sessions take place outside. The space is wheelchair accessible. Just turn up on the day. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
