    RAY LOWRY, A RETROSPECTIVE AT SAUL HAY GALLERY, MANCHESTER

    Ray Lowry, a retrospective Saul Hay Gallery proudly presents a retrospective of the multifaceted work of the Salford born artist, cartoonist. illustrator and satirist, Ray Lowry.

    Saturday 2nd - Saturday 16th March 2024 Preview from 5pm on Friday 1st March

    With his highly distinctive style and wit, Ray Lowry contributed to The Guardian, Private Eye, Punch, Tatler and NME, among many other publications. He is perhaps best known as the designer of The Clash's iconic 1979 LP, London's Calling.

    The exhibition will include original ink drawn cartoons, sketches of The Clash from when Ray toured with them and original paintings of his native Salford. With a unique and unmistakable style his cartoons are world renowned, His energetic ink sketches whilst on tour with The Clash are now collectors’ items and his fine art and abstract work has gained recognition in the art world.

    Saul Hay Gallery hosts a vibrant collection of painters, sculptors, printmakers, photographers and ceramicists from the Manchester region and beyond.
