AMMIES LOSE 2-3 IN STOPPAGE-TIME AFTER A LAST MINUTE SPRINT BY PLYMOUTH’S RYAN HARDIE
James Wilson sunk two into the back of the net but it was still not enough to defeat Argyle who beat the Ammies 3-2 on Tuesday (11th Feb).
Plymouth went ahead at the 18 minute mark after Antoni Sarcevic chipped a cross in towards Byron Moore who nudged the ball over the line from the four yard line.
An attempt to claw back a goal from Rooney saw team mate Bruno Andrade narrowly miss the net which saw Salford head back to the dressing room a goal down.
The second half got underway with two cracking saves from Kyle Letheren after strikes from Cooper and Sarcevic
Newly substituted Wilson scored with his first touch from a header sent into the back of the Argyle goal.
But the response from the Plymouth was a brilliantly curled shot from the 25 yard box which put the Pilgrims back into the lead.
Wilson didn’t have to wait too long for his second after just two minutes he struck again from the 15 yard box.
Sadly his efforts were not enough as a strike from Ryan Hardie in stoppage time cost the Ammies a draw. Hardie made a sprint down the right to crack the ball into the corner of Salford’s net to secure the win.
