The votes have been verified, counted and the results are now in for the Salford Constituency, with Salford’s Returning Officer Tom Stannard announcing that Rebecca Long-Bailey has successfully won the newly formed seat for Labour.

The new Salford constituency takes the place of the former Salford & Eccles constituency due to changes to the political boundaries in 2024 following a review by the boundary commission.

Rebecca Long-Bailey appeared via video link due to illness.

Stephen James Lewthwaite – Social Democratic Party | 227 Votes
1%

Number of spoilt votes: 185

Voter turnout: 47.7%

Total votes cast: 39,889

Electorate: 83,633

Result : Labour Win

Salford constituency – is made up of these nine Salford City Council wards – Blackfriars and Trinity, Broughton, Claremont, Ordsall, Pendlebury and Clifton, Pendlebury and Charlestown, Quays, Swinton Park, Weaste and Seedley
