young woman hospitalised following concern for welfare incident at cross lane

Emergency services responded to a call from a member of the public at around 2:30am this morning (Thursday 4th July) regarding concern for the welfare of a young woman in her early 20’s close to Cross Lane in Pendleton.

She was later taken to hospital with what are described as life changing injuries.

A cordon remains in place at Cross Lane.

As this is a concern for welfare our reporting of this incident ends here.

A spokesperson for GMP issued the following statement:

“At around 2.30am this morning (Thursday 4 July 2024), we were called to a concern for welfare on Cross Lane, Salford.

“A woman in her 20s was taken to hospital with life-changing injuries and remains there in serious condition. Enquiries are ongoing.”
