The votes have been verified, counted and recounted and the results are now in for the Worsley & Eccles Constituency, with Salford’s Returning Officer Tom Stannard announcing that Michael Joseph Wheeler has successfully won the newly formed seat for Labour. The former Swinton & Worsley South seat was left vacant following the retirement of former Labour MP, Ms Barbara Keeley.
The new Worsley & Eccles constituency takes its place due to changes to the political boundaries in 2024 following a review by the boundary commission.

Voter turnout: 54.3%
Total votes cast: 42,707
Electorate: 78,643
This is made up of 67,597 voters in Salford wards and 11,046 voters in districts from Wigan Borough’s Astley Mosley Common area that form part of Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council.
