A 40-year-old woman has been arrested following the stabbing of a man in Walkden in the early hours of this morning (Saturday 6th July).
At around 2:15am, police were called to reports of a stabbing on Bickershaw Drive in Walkden. It is believed that the attack was linked to a domestic incident.
The man was taken to hospital and his injuries are said to be non life threatening.
Police are continuing to carry out searches of the area and have erected a blue evidence tent to aid their investigation.
The woman remains in custody and is being questioned by police.
A spokesperson for GMP said:
“Police were called around 2.15am on Saturday to a report of a male with serious injuries following an incident on Bickershaw Drive, Salford. Emergency services attended and enquiries established a 48-year-old man had been stabbed.
“He was taken to hospital with injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing. Officers are currently treating this as an isolated incident and do not believe there to be any wider threat to the public.
“A woman, aged 40, has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault. She remains in custody to be questioned by detectives.”
