Swinton Lions have announced the signing of Welsh international prop-forward Anthony Walker on a two and a half year contract.
Walker, who has previously played for prominent clubs such as St Helens, Wakefield Trinity, Bradford Bulls, and Widnes, brings a wealth of experience to the club.
Lions’ Head Coach Alan Kilshaw added:
“I’ve worked with Ant before, an international who played in the last World Cup. He is a really good player at this level with a history of playing in good teams. He is definitely a coup for us, he was keen to come and join the Lions, and we’re delighted to have secured his services. He brings plenty of size as a prop-forward and will go well.”
The club also thanked PrideBuilder members who have made a significant contribution towards the costs of bringing Anthony to Swinton.
The club extended gratitude to the members for their financial support in securing Walker’s transfer, emphasizing the community’s role in bolstering the team’s lineup.
Swinton are next set to play Doncaster away (at Featherstone) this Saturday – 29th June 2024.
