A theatre group based around Rixton, Cadishead and Irlam were delighted to be the first to perform on stage a new comedy farce ‘A Knight to Remember’ penned by Johnny Jarman who has provided comedy sketches and worked with the likes of Little and Large, Russ Abbott and Hale and Pace.
This was only the third production from the ‘Treading the Bored’ Theatre Group, created last year for local Amateur Dramatics enthusiasts to get together, to showcase their talents and enjoy a bit of fun as they set about staging their own productions.
They were delighted to have writer Johnny Jarman in the audience for the final performance after three near sell out nights at Rixton Community Hall, with Johnny travelling all the way from Surrey to watch the first production of the all new comedy farce that he has penned.

“We are a small number of adults from all ages and backgrounds, but our members all share one interest – to perform! It is fantastic to see how our group is growing and evolving in skills and confidence. Commitment and diversity have allowed us to flourish as a drama group that we are proud to say produces shows that the audience hopefully enjoy and remember for a long time to come.”

“To be the first to perform ‘A Knight To Remember’ and to have professional writer Johnny Jarman in the audience for our production was amazing, I am sure he enjoyed our rendition of his latest comedy!”
Johnny Jarman said:
“A Knight to Remember started taking shape in 2016 by mid-2017 I was in trouble. I had built up such a ‘house of cards’ of lies, deceit, mischief and madness and I realized I didn’t have an ending. I put it in the drawer and let my subconscious mull over the problems of how to resolve it…
After 6 months the ending came as a blinding flash of inspiration when I was not even thinking about it, I finished it, polished it up and sent it off to the publishers and now here it is being performed for the first time by the very talented ‘Treading The Bored’ players, and it was absolutely fantastic, well done to all involved.”
