  1. Winton Ospreys took on a very strong Under 12s girls team from Bolton Wanderers, which was always going to be the toughest test to date for the Ospreys, and it certainly proved to be so. A very physical, tough girls’ team from Bolton Wanderers. Who were the better team first half, with their tough tackling and no-nonsense approach. They did not allow the Ospreys any time on the ball, and Ospreys had long spells of defending in there own half and relying on 3 or 4 good saves from keeper Luke Morrison to keep them in it. The Ospreys rarely threatened the Bolton goal in the first half,
  2. It was the first tournament post lockdown for the U7s Winton wanderers Avengers on bank Holiday Monday as they entered the MYSL (Manchester youth super league) foundation Cup. A foundation formed to help grassroots clubs who are in need of support during these times. Drawn in group A, they had a tough first match against shawside boca but two goals from the excellent Frankie Fisher helped seal the first win of many on the day. The avengers then had matches against Prestwich, Mossback greens and Reddish Vulcans. winning 3 out of the 4 matches leaving them topping the group
  3. The first game of 2021 for Winton Wanderers U13 Flames following the Covid lockdown was a 9v9 home fixture at Cleavleys versus Mossbank JFC from Bolton. After a cagey and slightly rusty start, Winton built some pressure and were unlucky not to take the lead with a free kick from Lacey tipped over the bar. The pressure eventually paid off with a poachers finish by new girl Beebs starting up front in her debut. Beebs then added a second with a lovely lob from the edge of the box. Mossbank’s heads didn’t go down though and Winton’s defenders had to keep winning their forward ball
