Kellan Gummery, aged-18, of Bridson Street, stood alongside Dillon Saunders, aged-18, of Stowell Street in the dock at Manchester and Salford Magistrates this morning both charged with one count of the murder of 17-year-old Josiah Norman who was tragically killed on Pevril Road in Weaste on April 21st. Both accused confirmed only their names, dates of birth and addresses before being ordered to be remanded in custody until due to appear at Manchester Crown Court this Wednesday 5th May. The pair join a 27-year-old and a 17-year-old who have also been charged with the popular Salford teens murder. A fundraising page has been set up in Josiah's name as family and friends aim to raise money to give him a good send off. As of publication the fund has so far raised a staggering £4,653 of it's £5,000 goal. Meanwhile floral tributes and candles continue to be placed at the end of Pevril Road on which Josiah sadly lost his life.
  2. Two teenagers have been charged in connection with the death of Josiah Norman in Salford. Josiah was ran over, beaten and then stabbed to death on Pevril Road in the Weaste area of the city, shortly after 8:15pm on Wednesday 21st of April. The teenager sadly died as a result of his injuries after being rushed to hospital. Kellan Gummery (05/01/03) of Bridson Street, Salford and Dillon Saunders (11/03/02) of Stowell Street, Salford have both been charged with one count of murder. They have both been remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court on Monday 3 May 2021. Last Tuesday, 27th April, Kaylan Crankshaw (18/09/1993) of Dauntsey Avenue, Salford and a boy aged-17 who cannot be named for legal reasons appeared in court charged with murder. A man aged 27-years-old and a 17-year-old youth who can not be named for legal reasons, have both appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court this afternoon having been charged with the brutal murder of teenager Josiah Norman on the 21st of April. Josiah was ran over, beaten and then stabbed to death on Pevril Road in the Weaste area of the city, shortly before 8:15pm. District Judge - Bernard Begley remanded both into custody ahead of appearances at Manchester Crown Court later today, Tuesday (April 27).   4. During a press conference held this afternoon, Greater Manchester Police have named the teenager who was murdered during a brutal attack shortly after 8pm last night (Weds 21st April). Police say that 17-year-old Josiah Norman was run over by a car then brutally attacked with weapons by the vehicles occupants before being fatally stabbed in the chest. Police discovered two vehicles thought to be involved in the attack, set alight not far from the scene. Superintendent Glenn Jones, said that It is thought that the terrible attack was targeted as the result of a dispute: Police were also called to a home on Stowell Street after being informed of another youth having been stabbed in the arm. Officers attended and a 17-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently being held in police custody. So far there have been 2 arrests made on suspicion of murder and a further 2 arrests made on charges that the police have not yet disclosed.   5. A murder investigation has been launched after a stabbing in Salford last night which left one teenage boy dead and another with stab wounds to his arm. Police were called shortly after 8.15pm on Wednesday 21 April to a report of a stabbing on Peveril Road, Salford. A 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital with a stab wound to the chest and sadly died from his injuries despite the best efforts of emergency services. A short time later, police were called to a second address on Stowell Street after receiving reports that a second 17-year-old boy had suffered stab wounds to his arm. The 17-year-old had already left the scene, and gone to hospital for treatment. Officers attended, and he was subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody and enquiries are on-going. Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Wilkinson, of GMP's Major Incident Team, said: Chandos Grove is currently closed towards the junction with Pevril Road this morning as police conduct searches of the area, diversions are in place along Dodd Street.   6. Police have launched a murder investigation after the fatal stabbing of a teenager on Pevril Road in Weaste yesterday evening (Weds 21st April). A 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital after being stabbed in the chest in what police believe to be a targeted attack, unfortunately the youth has died from his injuries. A 17-year-old suspect has been arrested and remains in police custody this morning. Pevril Road remains cordoned off this morning at both ends as police continue their investigations. Officer Stuart Wilkinson of GMP's Major Incident Unit has said that investigations are at an early stage so far but the force is working hard to identify and bring to custody those responsible.
