The 24 year-old Biddulph born striker has signed on an 18-month deal which will see him pull on the red shirt at the Peninsular Stadium.
James has been snapped up from Aberdeen after being signed by the League-Two Ammies for an undisclosed sum on an 18-month long contract.
The former Manchester United academy graduate was once considered as hot property by the club back in 2014 but he failed to hit the mark there, and was soon put out to the Dons on loan, later opting to take a two year contract at the club - but alas he never quite got on his feet there either after a number of set backs and injuries kept him pretty much on the bench.
Despite the problems he remains a world class footballer with a great future ahead and we can see this move making a massive impact on both the club and his career.
Salford are putting together one hell of a team with their recent signings.
He follows fellow Ammies star Adam Rooney who also made the same move two years ago and has never since looked back.
You can find out more about his signing on the clubs website.
