If a report by the Daily Record is to believed, the Ammies look to soon be bagging themselves a new central defender in the form of Hearts 'Outcast' former skipper - 34-year-old Christophe Berra, who is said to be in early stage talks with the club to move to the Peninsular Stadium.
Earlier this month it was revealed that Daniel Stendel declared that the center-half had no future at Tynecastle. He has found his first-team involvement limited and has been effectively frozen out.
League Two Salford FC Boss - Graham Alexander, is reportedly looking to snap up his former Scotland team-mate and add him to the clubs ever-growing list of exceptional talent.
Berra is a vastly experienced centre-back and has amassed plenty of game time at a high level so he would be a great choice for the club.
The 'Class of 92' backed club has deep pockets and the financial clout to make it a reality thanks to being bankrolled by Manchester United legends Gary and Phil Neville, David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt.
It is unclear what kind of deal (if any) will be struck as Berra still has over 18 months left on his contract, so if a move is permanent or on loan it remains to see.
Overall he would make an excellent addition to the club as it continues its march up the league tables.
