Happy New Year from myself Carl and Tony, let's hope 2026 will be one of happiness and joy. Our City turns 100 this year and though she may have her issues she is OUR CITY and we are ALL Salfordians. I know I speak for Tony when I say we love this little place on earth and we are always amazed at the wonderful people who work hard to make it the best they can. 2026 is the year we see our mansion at Buile Hill restored and open to the public once again, Our beleaguered Rugby Club is soon to arise from the ashes, countless people will come together to celebrate our history, present and future. Salford is so much more than a dirty old town, it's turned a corner and begining to thrive. This city of ours is what we make it and we are looking good for the next century and beyond. Last year we collectively showed pride in our heritage, this year it's time to show pride in what our future could be, each and every one of us coming together tasked in unity to show the rest of the country we are so much more than just another City, we are proud, caring, encompassing, beautiful and empathetic. We get knocked down but we find our feet and continue to resiliantly stand tall. WE ARE SALFORD, the forever swaying willows on the ford of the river. Let's make this one a year for the history books. See MoreSee Less

It is with a very heavy heart that we have to say our farewell to our good friend Alex Channon who has sadly passed away. Alex was a wonderful man who championed those who both worked and lost their lives whilst working in the mining industry. We have fond memories of his time on the Fred And Flynny show as well as during all the events we attended together. Our sincere condolences to his friends and family. Alex, you were one in a million, your shift has now ended, rest in peace. See MoreSee Less

We just wanted to say a few words about today's remembrance day parades and a huge thank you to all who attended them, as well as all those who watched the Eccles service online. We have been covering the Eccles Cenotaph for a number of years now and the one thing that blows both myselfTony FlynnFlynn away is the exponential growth in attendees, especially our younger generation who are exemplary in how they conduct themselves, both during and after the service. For all those mums and dads out there whose children attended, we salute you as they are all amazing, from the cadets to the guides and brownies, to those stood paying their respects alongside their parents, you really are amazing and so we thank you all. At a time when we are sadly losing some of our older generations which experienced the horrors of war first hand, it is heartwarming to know that their sacrifices shall truly never be forgotten and that the next generations will carry on keeping that light shining upon those who gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we can all enjoy our today's. We honestly can not believe just how well attended the cenotaphs are and how beloved our armed forces and blue light services are in this city, it really is an honour to be a part of it and so once again we wish to say thank you and most importantly, Lest we forget.
