Salford housing association Salix Homes has launched a brand-new radio show all about housing.
The landlord has teamed up with community radio station Salford City Radio for the new show – ‘Let’s Talk Housing with Salix Homes’.
Salix Homes, which owns 8,000 homes across Salford, is using the platform to answer questions from its customers on air, share important news and information about housing, services, events and activities, and provide practical advice and support.
Sue Sutton, Chief Executive at Salix Homes, said:
“We are really excited to be working with Salford City Radio on our new show, which aims to strengthen our connection with our customers across Salford, providing an additional communication channel for people to engage with us directly.
“At Salix Homes, we’re committed to being open and honest with our customers and explain the reasons behind the decisions that we make, so the show is proving a great way to talk directly to our customers and address the issues that matter most to them.
“If any of our customers in Salford have got a housing issue or a question about housing matters, then we’d love to hear from them and would encourage people to tune in to get their questions answered and hear the latest news and information from their landlord.”
During the shows so far, Sue has talked about the history of Salix Homes from its inception in 2007, when it was set up to manage Salford Council’s housing stock, charting its journey to becoming the stand-alone organisation it is today.
She has also addressed questions about the recent rent increase, the repairs service, planned improvement work to homes and talked about some of the challenges people are facing and the support that is available.
The hour-long show airs every Wednesday at 10am and is hosted by Salford City Radio Manager Jill Bowyer alongside different senior colleagues from Salix Homes, who talk about different topics and service areas, as well as answer customers’ questions.
