On Friday, 12th June, officers from the Salford Central Neighbourhood Team successfully raided an address on Gerald Road, Salford, discovering a large cannabis farm with an estimated street value of £20,000. This operation was made possible thanks to anonymous intelligence from the community and a related arrest, demonstrating the critical role public information plays in tackling local crime.

Upon forced entry into the property, officers uncovered the extensive cannabis cultivation operation. Two adult males, connected to the cannabis farm and other drug-related offences, were subsequently arrested. The investigation remains ongoing as officers continue to pursue leads and gather evidence.

The local Neighbourhood Policing Team is steadfast in addressing crimes that impact residents, including anti-social behaviour, drug dealing, off-road biking, and cannabis farming. However, they emphasize that community cooperation is vital. Local residents often have the most pertinent information about criminal activities in their area, and sharing this intelligence can significantly aid police efforts.

Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activities or known criminal enterprises anonymously. Personal details are not required, and any information provided will be kept strictly confidential. Reports can be made through several platforms: the GMP online report, Crimestoppers online, or directly via email at 13490@gmp.police.uk.

A spokesperson for GMP, said:

“Your local Neighbourhood Policing Team is dedicated to dealing with the crimes that impact you and your community.

“We need your help to identify and dismantle these cannabis farms. Please report them anonymously, and we will take action!”
