The Ammies have announced that midfielder Kelly Nmai has extended his contract with the club for an additional two years. This new deal ensures that Kelly will remain a key part of the team until the summer of 2026.
Kelly, who joined Salford City FC in 2021, has been a pivotal player for the team, consistently demonstrating his value on the field. His performances have made him a fan favorite and an essential component of the squad’s core.
Kelly, said:
The Academy graduate scored his first goals for the men’s team in wins against Sutton United and Crawley Town, and one against MK Dons, and shared how he has been buoyed by the support he has received from the terraces.
“I’m happy to be staying for those who have supported me home and away, and I hope that I can re-pay their support by scoring some goals and assists for them.
“The Sutton goal for me personally was the best one, I think it was my second start as well, two man of the matches in a row. But Crawley was a late winner, good vibes, I was happy with that as well.”
Born in the Netherlands, the 20-year-old grew up playing football in Salford and joined the academy in 2020 as a scholar. As a 17-year-old he made his debut for Gary Bowyer, endearing himself to the Ammies faithful with his determined and skilful performances.
Loan spells at Chester and Warrington Rylands registered some impressive stats for the young Dutch winger, who is looking forward to seeing where his career goes with the Ammies.

“I’m excited to continue playing football at Salford, and I’m excited to continue working with Karl because the back end of last season I felt like him coming in has been good, and I’m excited to see where this goes.
“Last season as a whole I broke into the first team and now I’m ready to kick-on and see where it goes. I believe I can become vital for this Club, and I hope I can become vital.
“The boys are ready for the new season, we’ve had a chat today and everyone’s looking quite fit and quite good so everyone’s excited to play our first game this Sunday in Belfast.
“I’m really excited for the league especially, we’re looking to be at the top end challenging.”
The deal is subject to EFL and FA ratification and approval.
