Salford Artist Show A Great Success

On Friday evening I attended the inaugural exhibition of the Salford Artists group at Langworthy Cornerstone with Salford artist, Geoffrey Key who had promised to view the exhibits and give the the winner £200 for what he considered to be best in show.

There were over 40 pieces in the exhibition, landscapes, animals, sportsmen, even a few examples of surrealism which impressed me, however the final decision was to be made by Geoffrey Key.

He was left alone on the mezzanine floor and carefully perused each piece of artwork before announcing that the winner was Adele Kingston and her painting, Autumn Colours.

Geoffrey Key praised her artwork for its honesty and style and that it was good enough to be exhibited in any major gallery, he also said that the standard of artwork on show was really impressive and that he felt honoured to be asked to judge the show and would continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

Adele seemed shocked and told the audience that she had only started painting during lockdown but that with hope and determination anybody could realise their dreams.
