Property developer, Salboy, is currently consulting on a new plan for 27 family homes near Salford’s RHS Garden Bridgewater. The proposed site spans five acres to the south of Leigh Road in Worsley and would neighbour Peel L&P’s proposed 300-home project nearby, which has received over 1000 objections.
The plans, designed by Studio Power with landscape architecture by Re, include demolishing the existing derelict farm structures at Booths Bank Farm to make way for semi-detached and detached homes. Each home is expected to have two parking spaces and gardens, aiming to attract skilled professionals while contributing to the local community’s growth, according to Salboy.
The area is included as a development are for housing as part of the Places for Everyone joint spatial plan for Greater Manchester.
The RHS Garden Bridgewater, a key feature in the area, has been a significant project for Salford with the local council having invested £19 million into it. The gardens offer free entry for Salford residents on Tuesdays and serve as a green space for both leisure and education. The garden has attracted over 1.4 million visitors since its opening in 2021, contributing significantly to local tourism and the economy.
Kerim Jones, Salboy’s development manager, said:
“This project highlights our commitment to creating top-tier housing that not only appeals to skilled professionals but also supports the ongoing vitality of Greater Manchester.
“We are focused on delivering high-quality family homes that cater to the needs of the region while enhancing the local surroundings.”
