As we edge closer to the 12th of December, election fever is hotting up as candidates push to secure as many votes as possible.
last week the candidates for Salford and Eccles took part in a live streamed debate organised by Salford University.
However, Green Party candidate Bryan Blears had hoped to hold a public hustings for the Salford & Eccles candidates tomorrow (4th Dec) but sadly he has had to cancel it after the two main parties in Salford failed to confirm if they would take part.
The event was to be held rather oddly in Winton Social Club in the neighbouring Worsley and Eccles South ward due to it being the only place available at such short notice.
The Liberal Democrats, Green Party and Brexit Party were signed up to attend but sadly due to a lack of response from the Conservative and Labour candidates, The Brexit Parties Matt Mickler decided he did not want to go ahead without their involvement. This would have left just Bryan and Liberal Democrat candidate Jake Overend attending.
So it would seem that despite Bryans best efforts their will be no opportunity for the public to grill the candidates this time around.
We did hear rumour that there was to be a similar event for those in the Worsley & Eccles South ward but since, nothing has come to pass.
