    Salford City Council

Salford Council has announced the end of the 15-year join venture partnership with Capita and Galliford Try, which is set to come to and end today, 31 January 2020.

Urban Vision ran Salford City Council’s planning, building control, property, highways and infrastructure services.

    City Mayor Paul Dennett said:

    Quote

“We are very pleased to welcome the nearly 300 employees who delivered services for Urban Vision to the council. We are now at a stage where the innovations in the services Urban Vision delivered are making a real difference to the city. The services returned to the council will help us to move faster and further in this journey. The added capacity through the transfer of dedicated and skilled people from the partnership was a key motivation in in the council’s decision to take these services back in-house.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank Capita and Galliford Try for the professionalism shown during our partnership. We would like to reassure businesses and residents that work will continue on all programmes previously managed by Urban Vision. The council has worked with its partners for over two years to ensure a seamless transition back to the council”

Simon James, Partnership Director, Urban Vision, said:

    Quote

“All three organisations recognise the partnership has reached its natural conclusion and that the end of the contract is both timely and appropriate. We have worked hard particularly during the complex transfer project over the past 18 months to bring the services back to the council with no disruption to services. The council now has a solid foundation to further progress ambitious plans for the city and its residents in order to deliver its vision of being a city of opportunity where everybody thrives.”
