Yesterday afternoon (19th October) , police officers responded to a serious incident involving an assault in Cadishead. Due to the nature of the report, firearms officers and a police helicopter were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Temporary road closures were enforced in the surrounding area, including Fir Street, Cadishead, and the entrance to Tesco in nearby Irlam. The closures, which caused some disruption, have now been lifted as the situation is under control.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the assault, and the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities have confirmed that there is no information to suggest any ongoing threat to the wider community.
