Police charge man in connection with Weaste firearms discharge

Police in Salford have charged a man following a firearms discharge in Weaste.

Prince Moyo (19/10/1999) has been charged with two counts of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of drugs with intent to supply cocaine, and possession with intent to supply heroin.

He has been remanded into custody to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court later today (Thursday 4 July).

These charges relate to an incident which took place on Jane Street on Salford on Sunday 30 June.

Detective Inspector Justin Bryant form our Salford CID said:

“Since the firearms discharge on Sunday we have worked tirelessly to understand the circumstances which led to this incident. We have made significant progress and we now have a man who has been charged and remanded for drugs and firearms offences, but our investigation is still very much ongoing.

“Additional officers remain in the area to support the community who have been affected by this, and we are working closely with partners to ensure our residents feel safe. If you have any issues or concerns, please do not hesitate to speak to us.

Police are still appealing to anyone with information is asked to contact us on 101 quoting log number 3070 of 30/6/2024.
