There was disruption in Irlam earlier this morning as three females thought to be linked to the Palestinian Action Group, were arrested for burglary and taken into custody following a pro-Palestine demonstration, which took place at a factory close to Brinell Drive. A large police presence was spotted in the areas and surrounding roads were closed.

Police say that around 4am this morning they received calls that demonstrators had managed to force themselves into a building which is used as a casting foundry, claimed by the group to manufacture arms components, which they say are being used against civilians in Israeli/Gaza war.

Video footage posted to X.com (Formerly Twitter) shows members of the group destroying equipment at the premises.

There were initial concerns for the welfare of a fourth woman who remains in the building but she is said to be safe and engaging with police officers.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said:

“We are currently responding to an incident on Brinell Drive in Irlam after receiving reports of intruders at around 4am. Officers attended and three females were later arrested on suspicion of burglary and remain in custody for questioning.

“A fourth woman has been located at the premises. Whilst there were initial concerns for her welfare, she is currently safe and engaging with officers.

“A contained scene remains in place alongside other emergency services, whilst enquiries continue.”

The group also targeted another premises in Surrey which it claims is involved in the manufacture of weapons systems for missiles, tanks and F-35 fighter jets.
