A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital having suffered serious injuries as a result of a collision with a barrier which happened on Albion Way in Salford earlier this evening.

The road was temporarily closed off to traffic for sometime this evening but the restrictions have now since been lifted.

Firefighters, North West Ambulance Service and Greater Manchester Police were all in assistance.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said:

“At around 6:15pm today (Saturday, 22nd July), firefighters were called to assist Greater Manchester Police and the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) at the scene of a crash involving a motorbike on Albion Way in Salford.

“Crews were at the scene for around an hour.”
