Man from Salford amongst trio charged with racially aggravated assault following Manchester protests

A man from Salford and a man from Lancashire have been charged with racially aggravated assaults and public orders offences following protests at the weekend in Manchester.

A third man has also been charged with a public order offence by distributing, showing or playing a recording, with intent to stir up racial hatred, in an incident in Stockport on Monday 5 August 2024.

Alex Fraser (11/08/2003) of Oldham Road, Manchester, has been charged with racially aggravated assaults and public orders offences, he has been remanded into custody ahead of an appearance at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Wednesday 7 August 2024.

Matthew Wilson (12/08/1992) of Parrock Street, Rossendale, Lancashire, has been charged with racially aggravated assaults and public orders offences, he has been remanded into custody ahead of an appearance at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Wednesday 7 August 2024.

Aaron Johnson (14/08/1991) of Criterion Street, North Reddish, Stockport, has been charged with distributing, showing or playing a recording, with intent to stir up racial hatred, he has been remanded into custody ahead of an appearance at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Wednesday 7 August 2024.
