A man has been charged with multiple offences following an investigation into knife-point robberies on Worsley Road, Salford.

Paul Barrett, 42, of Westwood Crescent, Salford, has been charged with two counts of business robbery, two counts of possession of a bladed article in a public place, and possession of cannabis. He has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Salford Magistrates Court today.

Detective Sergeant Gareth Bannister from Greater Manchester Police’s Salford CID commented on the case, saying, “I am glad that a charge has been brought about on the back of an investigation and press appeal into reports of these incidents.”

He added, “I hope it demonstrates our commitment to tackling all reports of robberies that come into us, and I would urge any businesses affected by crime to please get in touch with us.”

The investigation followed reports of knife-point robberies, and local authorities are continuing their efforts to combat crime in the area.
