Police were called by security to reports of a bomb threat at Abraham Moss Centre on Crescent Road in Manchester, yesterday evening (8th June)

Greater Manchester Police and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue attended and members of the public were evacuated as a precaution.

In line with procedure, a search of the premises was carried out and it was thankfully determined that there was no credible threat.

An 18 year old man has since been arrested on suspicion of malicious communications and remains in police custody at this time for questioning.

Inspector Charlotte Roche said:

“I understand the concerns incidents of this nature will raise amongst the community but I would like to reassure you that no credible threat was found. On behalf of GMP, I would like to thank the local community for your patience and assistance while this incident was resolved.”
