Salford Community Media CIC (Salford.Media) is a not for profit people-powered local media, none of us get paid and income we generate goes towards expanding local media! It’s written by the people of Salford, for the people of Salford. Our volunteer community reporters cover all kinds of things, from attending local events, following campaigns, telling people’s stories and highlighting the work of local groups – and lots more! Some people learn to write articles, some turn into photographers, others enjoy making videos – some use all these (and more!) in their storytelling. Experience working within the local media sphere, it looks fantastic to potential employers on your CV and it's a great way of gaining new transferable skills.
