The largest arts and crafts retailer in the UK, Hobbycraft, have committed to an additional three years of patronage to Empower Youth Zones.

Having proudly been part of the Founder Patron campaign since 2019, Hobbycraft have consistently supported our art department with essential creative supplies and equipment, as well as volunteering their time and expertise at the Youth Zone during our school holiday clubs.

These takeover days see Hobbycraft lead a range of workshops with our members, inspiring them to explore their creativity and learn new skills.

Hobbycraft are committed to making a difference and adding value to their store communities, with this partnership with Empower providing thousands of local young people with the opportunity to find their passion and develop their confidence.

Speaking further on the decision to renew their patronage, Joel Pickering, Marketing Director at Hobbycraft said:

“We’re incredibly proud to be renewing our patronage with Empower Youth Zones, and continue to help HideOut transform the lives of young people from across Manchester. Hobbycraft has an established history of charity support and work all year round to raise vital funds for those who need it most. We look forward to continuing our activities with Adam and the team.”

Adam Farricker, CEO of Empower Youth Zones said:

“Our partnership with Hobbycraft is a really special one – their consistent support helps us support our young people’ ongoing wellbeing while opening up new creative experiences, skills and pathways that they might not otherwise be exposed to. As we look ahead to the launch of our Salford site in 2025, we look forward to enriching even more lives in this next phase of Hobbycraft’s patronage.”

Patrons’ contributions combine to create 70% of the annual running costs of a Youth Zone, and the support will provide a foundation to develop and maintain excellent services for young people that match the quality of the building.

Additionally, patrons provide valuable opportunities and access for young members, opening doors to partners and supporting fundraising and awareness campaigns.
