Today we spoke to Joan Fielder the widow of the much loved Salford legend and former BBC Radio DJ Fred Fielder MBE aka Chunky Baby
The funeral will be held at Peel Green Crematorium on Monday 5th August at 2.20pm, followed by a reception at Irlam Catholic Mens Club.

Joan has asked that it be an upbeat and friendly service with no dress code but donations for Cancer Research UK on the day will be welcomed.
People will be encouraged to share their memories of Fred in the Chapel and Joan has asked if anybody would like to stand up and say a few words they are more than welcome.
From the response both online and offline, it’ will ‘s sure to be a packed out venue and so an audio relay will be provided for those unable to get inside the crematorium.
Tributes have been pouring in daily on our Salford History Group on Facebook, on which Fred would post and reply to comments regularly.
So let’s give the Chunky Baby himself the send off he deserves and raise a glass or two to his memory later on in the Catholic Club.
Fred, you old rogue we shall miss you dearly, you made so many people happy over the years with your crazy antics, a great loss to Salford.
