ForHousing strengthens its Board with three new members, as it continues to focus on its ambitious five-year strategy aimed at positively impacting the lives of its social housing tenants.
Tony Bell has recently joined as Chair Designate of the Audit and Risk Committee, taking over from Jim Barclay when he steps down from the role in October 2024. Jim will remain on the Board until September 2025.
Claire Stone and Ian Joynson will officially join the Board in August 2024, with their inaugural board meeting set for September 2024.
With over 30 years of senior management and board-level experience from the NHS, further and higher education, and social housing sectors, Tony has served prominently at Wythenshawe Community Housing Group and Equity Housing Group.

Claire Stone brings a wealth of experience and strategic perspective to ForHousing. After a distinguished executive career, Claire transitioned to non-executive roles, demonstrating a strong commitment to improving customer engagement and regulatory compliance within the social housing sector.
Claire has served as a Board member at Leeds Federated Housing Association, where she chaired the Customer Experience Committee and played a pivotal role in the organisation’s journey back to compliance.

“My focus has always been on customer-focused delivery and ensuring robust governance and I am eager to bring my experience to the Board and ensure we continue to drive forward the goals of the five-year strategy, especially the aims of the Customer Strategy.”
Ian Joynson joins ForHousing with extensive expertise in social housing, currently working as the Executive Director of Assets at The Guinness Partnership.
Ian has over 25 years’ experience working in social housing, as an executive, non-executive, advisor, and regulator. He has significant experience in strategic asset management and broader operational leadership, but is also a fully qualified chartered accountant.
