ForHousing has appointed Jamie McDonald as its new Executive Director of Customer Experience – Repairs, a brand-new role that will support the landlord in positively impacting the lives of social housing tenants.
Jamie will join ForHousing, which owns and manages 24,000 homes across the North-West, in August.
He will lead on the transformation of the landlord’s repairs and maintenance service, with the views and experiences of tenants at the heart of a new approach to delivering repairs.
Jamie is the former Customer Experience Director for VIVO Defence, which oversees 84,000 military homes, and has held roles at Carillion, Equans, and Mitie.
Last year he won the Best Customer Experience Innovation prize at the National Customer Satisfaction Awards.
In another change to its leadership team, ForHousing has appointed Jenny Neville as its new Deputy Chief Executive. Jenny was previously Executive Director of Corporate Services at ForHousing and was named as Interim Deputy Chief Executive in 2023.
Speaking about his appointment, Jamie said:
“I am looking forward to getting started and having a positive impact on people’s lives.
“Seeing the way ForHousing puts tenants at the heart of decision-making and how services are delivered has been inspiring, and perfectly aligns with how I think landlords should operate repairs services.
“From day one, I’ll be working with the team to make sure homes are safe and well-maintained, and that services are well run and available to everyone.”
Mike Parkin, ForHousing CEO, added:
“I’d like to congratulate Jamie and Jenny on their new roles.
“Jamie completely embodies our values at ForHousing. He has an impressive track record and will bring fresh thinking on repairs along with knowledge, expertise, and insight.
“Jenny has been at the heart of the positive change we’ve seen at ForHousing, and our renewed focus on positively impacting the lives of social housing tenants. She puts the views of tenants at the centre of every decision and I’m delighted that she has been appointed Deputy Chief Executive on a permanent basis.”
