The English Cities Fund (ECF) has lodged detailed plans for the next phase of the Salford Central Masterplan, focusing on the redevelopment of the former Regent Trading Estate. This phase, referred to as Oldfield Basin, aims to introduce 90 new homes to the area, encompassing 63 apartments and 27 townhouses.
The homes are designed to meet Passivhaus standards, ensuring high energy efficiency and sustainability. Situated adjacent to the historic Islington Mill, the development also plans to retain several warehouse units for cultural and artistic uses, preserving the site’s creative heritage.
Managed by Derive RP upon completion, the project represents a significant step in revitalizing this brownfield site. The design of Oldfield Basin is the work of Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, a renowned architectural firm. Landscape design is being handled by Re-form, and DPP is serving as the planning consultant for the project.
