Sorted Food teams up with The Can Makers for a live cooking and canned drinks pairing session. Discover how cans deliver on taste, variety, and sustainability.

  • The Can Makers have partnered with Sorted Food to host a live drink pairing using only canned beverages.
  • The Live Stream is being broadcast from MediaCityUK on Wednesday 4th June at 1pm.

Popular content creators, Sorted Food, will be bringing their energy and expertise to MediaCityUK on Wednesday 4th June for an exclusive, live-streamed event titled ‘ONLY CANS’, celebrating canned drinks.

During the live stream, which is in partnership with The Can Makers, the Sorted Food team will prepare a recipe, whilst sampling a selection of canned beverages to highlight the quality, variety and circularity of drinks in cans.

Tim Conybeare, Chairman of The Can Makers, said: “Our ongoing partnership with Sorted Food helps us reach a younger audience and raise awareness of the can as the perfect drinks container, not just for its environmental credentials, but also for the way it protects and presents great tasting drinks.

“This event is all about showing consumers what makes the can so unique and how, by making simple choices, we can all support a more sustainable future.”

The event is part of an ongoing campaign by trade body The Can Makers, which aims to raise awareness about the many benefits of canned beverages.

Beverage cans offer a range of benefits that make them one of the most sustainable and practical packaging choices for drinks today. They can be recycled again and again, without losing their protective qualities. Their compact, lightweight design makes them easy to transport and store, helping reduce carbon emissions across the supply chain. Cans also protect drinks from light and air, locking in flavour and freshness.

Ben Ebbrell, Co-Founder and Chef of Sorted Food, said: “We’re really excited to be part of this campaign and to shine a light on just how far canned drinks have come. There’s so much variety out there now, from craft sodas to cocktails, and the fact that cans are endlessly recyclable makes it a really interesting conversation point with our global community of food lovers.

We’re looking forward to having a laugh, cooking something tasty, and cracking open a few cans live on YouTube with our community.”

Recycling programme, Every Can Counts, will also be in attendance to show crowds how easy it is to recycle beverage cans and provide facts around the importance of recycling. Every Can Counts is dedicated to encouraging drink can recycling at home, work, festivals and public spaces.
