“Candidates have now been announced for the Eccles by-election and I would encourage all ward residents to vote. The polls open at 7am on Thursday 31 October and close at 10pm.
“Residents in the Eccles ward now have until Tuesday 15 October to register to vote and until Wednesday 16 October to apply for a postal vote. Those who have not registered cannot vote in the election. Photo ID is also required so if you don’t have any of the acceptable documents, apply for a free voter authority certificate before Wednesday 23 October. This is your chance to have your say.”
