PEPPA PIG LIVE! RETURNS TO THE LOWRY FOR A NEW ADVENTURE

What's On Guide
At The Lowry Wed 15 & Thu 16 August

Peppa Pig and her friends are back in a brand new live show Peppa Pig’s Adventure, featuring loads of songs and heaps of fun!

Produced by leading children’s theatre team Fiery Light, in partnership with licensor Entertainment One (eOne), Peppa Pig’s Adventure marks the ninth consecutive year of Peppa Pig live theatre tours since 2009 and the fifth Peppa Pig stage production in total.

Join Peppa as she gets ready to go on an exciting camping trip to the woods with George and her school friends, including Pedro Pony, Suzy Sheep and Gerald Giraffe. With lunch-boxes packed and Daddy Pig driving the bus, Peppa and her friends are excited about their outdoor adventure, full of games,  laughter and live music!

The happy campers soon settle down to sleep and listen to the gentle pitter-patter of rain.  Safe and warm inside their tents the excited group can look forward to morning time when there will be lots of muddy puddles to play in!

Richard Lewis once again takes the helm for this new live stage adaptation of eOne’s popular animated TV series which he directs and has adapted for the theatre. He has also adapted and directed the four previous Peppa Pig live stage shows,  Peppa Pig’s Party, Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt, Peppa Pig’s Big Splash and Peppa Pig’s Surprise. The show features music from BAFTA award-winning composer Mani Svavarsson.

Audiences will enjoy interactive fun, songs and games with Peppa Pig and her friends. Peppa Pig’s Adventure promises to be the perfect theatre show for all pre-schoolers. Suitable for ages 3+.

Shelagh Delaney’s remarkable taboo-breaking 1950s play, which was first produced in the Lyttelton Theatre in 2014, is directed by Bijan Sheibani and designed by Hildegard Bechtler, re-conceived in an exciting new production featuring a live on stage band.

Jodie Prenger (Oliver!, Shirley Valentine, Abigail’s Party UK tour), leads the cast as Helen. Joining her are Gemma Dobson as Jo, Durone Stokes as Jimmie, Stuart Thompson as Geoffrey, and Tom Varey as Peter.
They are joined by understudies Liam Bessell, Katy Clayton, Claire Eden, and Marcel White.

Written by Salford's very own Shelagh Delaney when she was nineteen, A Taste of Honey offers an explosive celebration of the vulnerabilities and strengths of the female spirit in a deprived and restless world.

When her mother Helen runs off with a car salesman, feisty teenager Jo takes up with Jimmy, a sailor who promises to marry her, before he heads for the seas.
Art student Geoff moves in and assumes the role of surrogate parent until, misguidedly, he sends for Helen and their unconventional setup unravels.

Hacienda legend DJ Paulette will swap the turntables for an art installation titled ‘Homebird’ at The Lowry Sat 22 September – Sun 14 October.

‘Homebird’ by DJ Paulette is the third in The Lowry’s Edit series of gallery projects and collaborations. Legendary Manchester DJ Paulette will be taking over a gallery at the Salford arts venue and turning it into an immersive mood board of her life and the influences that have shaped her as a person and a performer.

DJ Paulette has worked alongside big names of the Dance music world from Gilles Peterson and David Guetta, to Moodymanc and Mr Scruff. She has DJ'd at some of the world's most famous clubs including Hacienda, Space Ibiza, Privilege, and had a residency at IBIZA ROCKS (PIKES HOTEL) in 2015. In 2001 she was in DJ MAGAZINE's 150 TOP DJS and had her own coveted Radio 1 Essential Mix in 1998

Addressing race, sexuality, gender, art and music, DJ Paulette’s installation is a joyous but provocative glimpse into different aspects of her life and career – from the “Sheroes” who have inspired her, to the obstacles she has had to overcome.

Visitors to the installation will journey through a specially constructed maze of ideas, experiences, memories and influences, providing a lens through which they can orientate their own lives.  The heart of the maze will be filled with music.
