AMMIES ADD ASKEW TO 2017-2018 SQUAD

A busy close-season continues as Salford sign former Blackburn Rovers left-back Josh Askew

Nineteen year old left-back or wing-back Josh Askew has agreed to join Salford City after his contract with Blackburn Rovers expires at the end of June. We have an interview with Josh here...

Josh is combative, determined defender who progressed through the Ewood Park academy and stepped up to Rovers' Under 21 development squad at the start of last season. He was a key player for the academy side during their run to the semi-finals of the FA Youth Cup during the 2015-2016 season and joined our neighbours Ramsbottom United on loan in October 2016.

A string of fine performances saw that loan spell extended and Josh picked up the Rams' December player-of-the-month award.

A highly rated young player who is determined to claim the Moor Lane left-back berth as his own - we'd like to offer a warm welcome to Josh and trust his stay with us will be a long and happy one.
