Hull FC has confirmed the signing of Amir Bourouh for the 2025 season following the expiry of his contract with Salford Red Devils.
The 23-year-old hooker made his Betfred Super League debut against the Red Devils but joined Salford from Wigan Warriors in 2022.
During his tenure at Salford, Bourouh showcased significant potential, signing a two-year deal initially. Despite limited game time in his first years, loan spells at various Championship clubs paved the way for his breakthrough into the first team by the end of 2023 and into 2024. His progress culminated in a one-year contract extension and the number nine shirt for the 2024 season.
Bourouh made nine appearances in 2024, scoring his first Super League try against Castleford Tigers in Round 2.
Reflecting on his time at Salford, Bourouh expressed gratitude to the team, coaches, and fans for their support:
“I would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey at Salford. I have enjoyed every minute alongside the team I joined, right through to the current group of players – many I know I’ll be friends with for a long time. The coaching and backroom team have been fantastic with me, and I have to thank them for all the time, and effort they’ve put in to help me progress. A final thank you to the fans, who have continued to back me and the team from day one. I am focused on working hard to make sure we end the season in the best way possible.”
Club Director Paul Trainor acknowledged Bourouh’s contributions, praising his character and development:
