Rums The Word – Middlewood Locks Mobile Bar Pop Up

Saturday 16th August is National Rum Day – and there is only one place you should be.

New Makers Yards – just a five minute walk from Aviva Studios – is a bustling neighbourhood of new build flats with thousands of people around, but when Seven Bros shut down earlier this year, it left the area lacking one big thing – somewhere to get a great drink – until now…

‘Cocktail Cartel’ is a brand new, completely independent mobile bar, and they are taking the industry by storm. With their innovative and unique cocktail creations, they are serving up drinks that you seriously don’t want to miss – and all from their bar on wheels!

Take their ‘Grown Up Coke Float’ – it’s got all the punch of your classic Long Island Iced Tea, then they throw on a scoop of toffee ice cream, chocolate sauce and sprinkles, not only does it look amazing – it gives your usual long island a sweet kick that leaves it dangerously irresistible!

As If the taste and the look isn’t good enough, most of their spirits are coming from local legends Spirit of Manchester – so you can have a true Manc cocktail – and of course, it wouldn’t be right to host National Rum Day in Salford without some gorgeous Salford Rum!

If cocktails aren’t your thing – they are also serving up pints from the world renowned, (and of course, local!) brewery ‘Track’ – a true Mancunian craft beer brewery who inarguably are brewing up the best pints about!

Cocktail Cartel is ran by industry professionals Katie and Erik who have been working in Manchesters hospitality scene for nearly 20 years combined. With a passion for supporting local, independents businesses and bringing amazing drinks to the table (there’s even a Pedro Pascal themed one , but we won’t spoil too much…), Cocktail Cartel are a bar to keep a serious eye on!

Head down to New Makers Yard on Saturday to catch them in action, and keep an eye on their socials for how you might be able to grab some freebies…
