The City of Salford Conservatives say that they are delighted to announce that Adam Carney has been selected as the official Conservative Party candidate for Kersal & Broughton Park in the 2026 Salford City Council election.
Adam has previously stood for election in this ward and across Salford, gaining strong local support. In 2022, he came second in Kersal & Broughton Park with 791 votes, narrowly missing out to an independent candidate. The party says that with a strong record of community engagement and a reputation for consistent grassroots campaigning, Adam is well-placed to win the seat in 2026.
The Kersal & Broughton Park ward is home to a diverse and vibrant Jewish community, and the Conservatives say that Adam has built strong relationships across the area by listening to residents and standing up for their needs, including on matters of community safety, education, and local services.
Chairman of the Salford, Worsley & Eccles Conservatives, Lewis Croden, commented:
“Adam is a hardworking and dedicated community campaigner who has earned the respect of residents in Kersal and Broughton Park. His deep understanding of the ward and commitment to standing up for local people make him the right choice to deliver real Conservative change on Salford Council. We’re proud to have him on our team for 2026.”
Adam Carney added:
“I’m honoured to be selected again to stand in a community I care deeply about. From better housing and safer streets to more responsive council services, I will fight for the issues that matter to local families and businesses. I look forward to working with residents to bring real, positive change.”
The local Conservative team will be rolling out campaign activity throughout the year, focusing on local priorities including bins, crime prevention, housing repairs, investment in public spaces, and accountability at the town hall.
