The festive season is fast approaching, and historic Salford pub, The Black Friar, is already gearing up for the most wonderful time of the year! Whether it’s a work Christmas party, festive drinks with friends, or a family gathering, The Black Friar is pulling out all the stops to create an unforgettable festive experience for 2024.
This year, The Black Friar is taking its festive spirit to the next level with a showstopping Christmas transformation. From 7th November, the entire front of the building will be unveiled with a magical festive display. Created by Cheshire-based floral artist Kelly Louise Chapman, the installation promises to be a must-see spectacle. The famous Winter Tavern is also back for Christmas with traditional festive colours, cosy rugs and roaring fires – sure to bring the holiday cheer to all.
Running from November 18th to December 30th, The Black Friar’s festive menu is back – bigger and more delicious than ever. Seasonal delights like Lobster & Prawn Scotch Egg, Goat’s Cheese & Mushroom Terrine, Turkey Ballotine, and their signature Black Friar Steak & Ale Pie are set to steal the show. And with decadent desserts such as the Baileys & Salted Caramel Yule Log and Caramelised Gingerbread Cake, diners are in for a true festive feast.
The festive menu is available as a two-course meal for £37 or three courses for £45 and runs all day from Monday to Saturday, ready to spread some foodie festive cheer. The Black Friar’s popular Sunday Roast menu will continue to run every Sunday, with some special festive dishes added. Walk-ins are welcome for those spontaneous cravings, but bookings are highly recommended to ensure a spot at the table, which can be booked here.
For a more casual festive celebration, The Black Friar is also offering a Festive Canapé Menu at £35 per head. Guests can indulge in a selection of options like Spiced Steak Tartare Shells, Truffle Arancini, King Prawn Bruschetta and Mini Truffle Cheddar Pies. Sweet lovers can add extra treats like Dark Chocolate Tart, and classic Mince Pies.
