Police in Salford name escaped prisoner as they launch appeal

Police are urgently appealing to the public for help in tracing Jonathon Windsor, who has escaped lawful custody while being escorted by prison staff at Salford Royal Hospital yesterday afternoon (Sunday 6th October).

Windsor, born on 31st October 1992, managed to flee during his transfer, and police are now seeking any information on his whereabouts.

He is known to have connections throughout the North West of England, with particular links to South Manchester. GMP have issued a warning to the public not to approach him, stressing that anyone who spots him should immediately report the sighting.

They are urging anyone with information to contact them directly at 0161 856 5049. Alternatively, those who wish to remain anonymous can reach out to the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111. When reporting information, members of the public are asked to reference log number 1687 of 07/10/24.

Police say they are continuing their search and have emphasized the importance of public cooperation to ensure Windsor is safely apprehended.
