Salford City Council has put forward a series of proposed Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) for the Monton area. These proposals aim to improve road safety, by limiting the speed limit to 20mph in key areas within Monton.

Community Consultation

Salford City Council is currently in the consultation phase for these proposed traffic orders. The council is inviting feedback from the Monton community to ensure that the final orders reflect the needs and concerns of those who live and work in the area.

Residents and business owners are encouraged to review the full details of the proposed orders and submit their comments through the online form. The consultation period is a crucial opportunity for the community to have a say in the future of traffic management in Monton.

The effect of the proposed order will be to implement 20mph Zone on the following lengths of road for their entire length:

Alfred Street, Algernon Street, Belmont Street, Carlton Street, Crawford Street, Dalton Street, Foundry Close, Francis Street, Gordon Road, Granville Street, Highfield Drive, Howard Avenue, Lansdowne Road, Mirfield Drive, Nelson Avenue, Partington Street, Stanier Avenue, Vincent Avenue and Monton Road from the outer ring roundabout with Monton Green to a point 50m south east from the south eastern extended kerbline of Hawthorn Avenue.

Submit Your Feedback on the Proposed Traffic Orders by 1 September 2024 quoting reference L/STG/SCC006/01225.

Alternately you can submit your objections in writing to Fiona Ledden, City Solicitor: PO Box 532, Town Hall, Manchester, M60 2LA
