Police were called to an incident on Worsley Road in Winton at around 8am this morning, following a call over concern for welfare of a woman.
The incident took place close to the shops at the junction with Worsley Road and the nearby Jolly Carter pub.
The woman was taken to hospital having suffered what police describe as serious injuries.
In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said:
“Officers were called to Worsley Road in Eccles at around 8am to a concern for welfare report. One woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries.”
