Car flips onto its side on Eccles Old Road after collision with a lamppost

A man was treated at the scene by paramedics after his car crashed into a lamppost and then flipped onto its side.

At around 8:15pm yesterday evening (Tuesday 9th July), Emergency services were called to the scene of a collision between a car and a lamppost on Eccles Old Road, which resulted in the vehicle ending up on its side.

It is unclear as to how the accident happened and as yet, details of the man’s condition are currently unknown.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS), said:

“Shortly after 8.15pm on Tuesday 9 July, two fire engines from Salford Community Fire Station were called to attend a road traffic collision involving one car on Eccles Old Road, Salford.

“Crews arrived quickly and worked alongside colleagues from Greater Manchester Police to make the area safe. One male was assessed by North West Ambulance at the scene. Firefighters were in attendance for approximately 45 minutes.”
