MediaCity has relaunched its popular outdoor dining concept with Kargo on the Docks, bringing in a fresh wave of local food traders while giving visitors a chance to enjoy a range of new artwork by Salford-based creatives.

For the first time, the Honey Butter Ring Hut, operated by Leopard Pie is serving its delicious, trademarked Honey Butter Rings alongside their sensational Neapolitan pizzas from one of Kargo on the Docks signature re-imagined shipping containers.

Other exciting new food offerings include Parmogeddon, bringing fried chicken and creamy béchamel goodness to MediaCity, mouth-watering burgers from So Famous and Block Steak Shop, as well as a second MediaCity location for Kargo. MKT favourite, ThatZiki.

Over the past few weeks, artists including Fernandes Makes, Kelly Ma and Caroline Daly have returned to MediaCity to adorn the newly added shipping containers with collaborative artworks and installations, bringing a fresh, summer vibe to its gardens. A brand-new art trail display has also been installed throughout the gardens, featuring artwork from MikeSian Studio, A Studio Called Jane, Luke Passey and Tasha Whittle.

Caroline Aikman, Director of Marketing, Brand and Place for MediaCity, said:

“Kargo on the Docks will provide a new space for our growing number of residents, workers, students and visitors to enjoy great local food and art in a vibrant, green outdoor setting. Sourcing and nurturing, local, emerging talent sits at the heart of MediaCity and Quayside’s ethos and Kargo on the Docks is set to continue that legacy, while adding another exciting dimension to MediaCity’s indie offering.”

Matt Bigland, Founder and CEO of Blend Family who operates the new look Kargo on the Docks, said:

“This is an exciting development for us and we’re looking forward to bringing all that Kargo offers to MediaCity in a brand-new format. The success of Kargo.MKT and Kargo Go has paved the way for this new venture and we’re pleased to be expanding our incredible line-up of food vendors on offer at MediaCity and Quayside.”

Kargo on the Docks will be open Tuesday to Sunday, with food served from 11.30am-9pm and the bar operating between 10am-11pm.

There will also be a range of pop-up events hosted at the venue throughout the summer, with more announcements set to be made in the coming months.
